The Tree of Knowledge Was Tempting, Because He Was Making ‘Smart'

Today people think, that they can control the world through the knowledge, that will be provided by libraries with thousands of smart books from science, metaphysics, psychology, philosophy. But all this worldly wisdom has just helped to make man's situation even more terrible in this world.

Jesus said, that you cannot inherit eternal life, if you're not born again in water and spirit. This spirit is a gift from above, that has nothing to do with any earthly smartness or intellectual knowledge. It is the direct contact and communication with God. It is an intelligence, that is intuitive and not rational. Someone who received the grace of being born again spiritually will act against the logical measures of others. In the eyes of others he can never come to be understood. Someone who is born again is swimming against the stream of the world. Spirituality has nothing to do with a business or a calculation with God. It is unearned grace. Enlightenment you can accept as a gift, and nothing else.

But then come the great condemners — the spiritual businessmen, the pharisees of the New Testament — and will tell you, but you must earn, you must merit through serving us or paying money to us. And so the adversary has sat himself in this world into the temple of God, and people worship him instead of God.

The tree of life is a reality, beyond the logical calculations from people of this world. Don't follow those great condemners, who always give you the feeling, that you're not good enough, who think that only their organization would be the representatives of God in this world. Truth sets you free, and often we need the courage to jump into the unknown, to make the crucial step into that, which seems to be unsafe for the average man, but is the only certain path for the man, who walks with God. The leaving of Egypt — our own inner slavery — means to make a step into a life, where we trust the way God is showing us, and not the measurements or imaginations of our fellow human beings. It is the journey into the unknown, but suddenly we figure out, that we're finding a form of happiness and blissfulness, that exceeds all happiness derived from material pleasure a billion times. We enter a new world — the tree of life reality — and one who will taste of the tree of life won't die anymore. He has entered eternity.
