Every new degree starts with darkness and corruptness.

Opposite to common religion, Kabbalah is not a path where we look unto the world through a lens of self-righteousness. Our inner attributes and those of the external world are equal to each other, like one drop of water to the other. It is like we would evert our own inner. The world is getting out of control because our own dark, corrupted side is increasing.
A Kabbalist is not someone who indulges himself in a feeling of superiority. He realizes his own dark urges and characteristics. Darkness is something that is not allowed to be eradicated on the path of Kabbalah. Every new spiritual level starts with darkness. We reveal more selfish desires and layers of our own (sub)conscious. Every new degree reveals how spoiled we really are. What then must arise is a true prayer that the upper light may correct our desires. Nothing in Kabbalah per se is regarded as bad. It is the use of our own desires and emotions that is determining if we will ascend or descend. Being aware that God is in control of everything is equal to something that we call the central column restriction, or the restriction of the middle line in the tree of life. Awareness - consciousness is restriction. When I'm aware that every state that I'm in now comes directly from God, I can begin to elevate my own intentions and prayers to ask the light that it will reform my inner vessels.
Every vessel is a desire. I can use them unconsciously for receiving for the sake to fulfill myself alone, or I can connect them with spiritual awareness or intention, called 'Kavanah'. God is surrounding me from all sides. Every other person or external situation in my life comes directly from God. The whole world is nothing else than a clothing of the light of God. But we may say, "There's so much darkness; how could this come from God?" In Kabbalah we learn that darkness is the mere absence of light. In the big picture, only I and the Creator exist. My own dark sides I ascribe to the world. My holy aspects I may ascribe to God or to other people when I'm able to recognize their virtues. We're constantly busy with seeing mistakes and flaws in others because our own corrupted vessels are the very nature of our desire to receive. Being busy with studying the holy scriptures will attract Mochin. This can be translated as receiving the consciousness or intellect of the upper world.
When we're connected with the upper reality, we always have the right intuition about what to do. When we are connected with intuition, there's not really something that we could call choice. All choice comes from the mind. When it decides correctly, it will enjoy the positive results of this decision. If it decides wrongly, it will regret its decisions. So or so, when we live in mind alone, life will be a constant state of ups and downs, because we can never foresee all the results of a single decision. When we're connected with the divine voice of intuition, we become a divine channel, and all that we are doing can only turn out to be right. We're going with the flow of the whole - with divine synchronization.
We can neither only live in our selfish desires - the left column of the tree of life - nor exclusively in our desires to share, which represent the right column of the tree. We must learn to use and transform our own inward darkness. A knife can be used to kill, or it can be used to save one's life through surgery. Everything is dependent on the usage of our inward desires. Even anger can become a fuel in your spiritual process. Being angry at yourself that you don't push yourself to your true potential. You cannot turn off your feelings through psycho methods like auto-suggestion. You must learn to use and face them, and when you're not afraid to face them, your enlightenment will blossom like a lotus blossoming out from its mud.
