Don't Count Your Blessings

One of the most difficult lecture people have to learn, when they want to approach the path of Kabbalah, is not to count their amount of blessings. Our normal consciousness is only busy with counting, with being smart like the snake we read of in Genesis. Egypt in the Bible is always only busy with building supply cities, because of fear of the future. Egypt symbolizes mainly fear and uncertainty. And then this attribute called 'Moses' awakens in our heart and wants to lead us out of Egypt. And the Israelites had every reason to worry, because going into the desert from a rational manner was equal to death. But God promised the Israelites to lead them into a land flowing with milk and honey. In fact there's no more secure path than following the call of our soul. But from the worldly perspective it would seem like complete insanity. Like I'll not gather food for two days, but I'll trust, that tomorrow the same light will shine as today. And so it never can be, that someone being connected with his soul will ever lack something — both spiritually and materially. But then come the great doubters in and outside of us, the Canaanites so to say or also the Egyptians, which are only busy with counting everything, and they ask you: Are you completely insane? But you know you must walk your path, because you know Egypt will find its end. And so this entire world in Kabbalah is Egypt which will finally go under. And so you follow the call of your soul. You go towards this other world, into this land flowing of milk and honey, and suddenly you will recognize, that this path brings you much more joy than sport cars, vacations around the world or million dollar businesses. It is the love to the word of God and suddenly an entire new universe reveals itself to you. And even materially God will bless you in everything on this way, like Jacob has proclaimed, that he has 'Kol' — all.
